How do I upgrade to Release 2013 R2?

Important Notes about Upgrading to Ascent 2013 R2

• You will need to upgrade Ascent and your vbSeries firmware concurrently.
• If you are running more than one instance of Ascent, or have more than one vbSeries instrument, you will need to set aside some time to upgrade all your products in one session.
• If you have a networked database and a pre-2011 version of Ascent, you will need to upgrade the Firebird Database Engine installed on the server to version 2.1.3.
• If you are sharing data with other sites or clients, you will need to synchronize your upgrade process for all installations.

Before you upgrade to Ascent 2013 R2, you should be aware that:

• It is NOT possible to have more than one version of Ascent concurrently installed on a single machine.
• Once you have installed Ascent 2013 R2, the first time you open an existing database it will be upgraded to the Ascent 2013 R2 format. Once upgraded, your database will NOT be compatible with an earlier version of Ascent.
